Week of May 21, 2007
Attention- The research paper project is due this week Tuesday!

Monday and Tuesday (5/21 & 5/22) - Students will complete their research paper project and turn in their folder by the end of class.
Homework: Organize research folder.
Reminder- No late papers will be accepted unless prior arrangements have been made.

Wednesday - Friday
We will begin our new unit which will carry us through the end of the school year. We are going to be reading a novel.
Hours 1 & 5: The Outsiders
Hours 2, 3, & 4: Romiette & Julio

Week of May 14th, 2007

Well, things have not gone as I had planned. We are a little behind in the research process, but I am hopeful that everyone will give it their all. We are getting closer to the home stretch and I know that we can do it! Just a reminder to all, I am available for extra help during lunch every day and after school on Thursday this week.

Monday (5/14/07) - Students will continuing working on their research paper in the computer lab.

Tuesday & Wednesday (5/15/07-5/16-07) -
Students will continue working on their research paper.

Thursday (5/17/07) - Students will peer edit each others research paper. Then, they will conference with me (Ms. Frazier) before typing thier final copy.

Friday (5/18/07) - Students will type the final draft of their research paper.

Week of May 7th, 2007

There will be alot of homework this week in English. We are well into the research process and need to accomplish many things in order to show off all our hard work! Students, prepare yourself to be exceptionally "fearless learners" from this point forward. I know you can do it! :) Parents, we need all the support you can give through this process. Thanks for all you do! :)

Monday (5/7/07) -
Students will review note cards and engage in a lesson on citing sources.
Due today: Note Card handout
(Hours 1, 4, 5) Homework: 15 Note Cards (Due 5/9/07)
(Hours 2, 3): Homework: 20 Note Cards (Due 5/9/07)

Tuesday (5/8/07) -
Students will continue their research paper work, specifically focusing on writing note cards.
Reminder: All note cards are due tomorrow!
(Hours 1, 4, 5 - 15 Note Cards)
(Hours 2, 3 - 20 Note Cards)

Wednesday (5/9/07) -
Students will continue the research writing process by writing an outline for their paper.
Homework: Begin drafting the rough draft of your research paper.

Thursday (5/10/07) -
Students will complete the rough draft of their research paper.
Homework: Finish drafting the rough draft of your research paper.

Friday (5/11/07) -
Students will peer editing and conference with Mrs. Frazier about their research papers.
