This past week, we started reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. We all have been enjoying this wonderfully, exciting book which deals with the main themes of gangs, violence, and prejudice.

2. Meeting Area “Breakfast Table”~Read and answer questions on Chapter Four of The Outsiders.
3. Add summary and picture of Chapter Four to the timeline.

We will be going to the library for a book exchange and to take an Accelerated Reader test on a book that you have finished this marking period.
1. Lesson~ The Outsiders Project
2. Handout and discuss the project for The Outsiders unit.
3. Read and answer questions for Chapter Seven of The Outsiders.
4. Add Chapter Seven's summary and picture to the timeline.
Homework~ The Outsiders Project (75 Points total-25 points each): Students are to choose two of the following tasks to complete in addition to the Timeline. Project choices: 1) Cast Sheet 2) Wanted Poster 3) Newspaper Article 4) Poem/Rap 5) Novel Cover 6) Movie Review
